  • Old Noyac Schoolhouse 3010 Noyack Road Sag Harbor, NY, 11963 United States (map)

A Round Table Discussion with the NCC’S Officers, Trustees, and Members.

How can the NCC better serve our members? What issues/topics are important to you; to hear and learn more about? Would you like to help join or start a NCC committee? (examples: Water quality/Sand Land/Bays, Lifestyle quality/Helicopter noise/traffic, Healthcare/Community services, Education/Sag Harbor Schools, etc)

Please join us on Dec. 10th and help the NCC plan the meetings and events for 2020 by providing your input.

Items of Interest:

  1. The NCC invited Gov. Andrew Cuomo to speak on environmental issues and storm preparedness for our December meeting. A spokesperson for Gov. Cuomo said that the Governor has refused to speak at this meeting because of the on-going litigation with the DEC. The NCC is suing the DEC for its issuing an 8 year permit to the Sand Land Mine, cited by the Health Department for being a polluter of our aquifer. The spokesperson negated the findings of the Suffolk County Health Department’s water contamination findings. The NCC will not accept this.

  2. There was a sold-out crowd at the NCC 2019 Fall Into the Holidays Dinner Dance – our annual fundraiser for our scholarship fund and charitable endeavors. The food at the Coast Grill was delicious. Many attendees went home with spectacular gifts donated by local merchants and businesses. The NCC raised enough money to give a scholarship to a member pursuing higher education. A ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION WITH THE NCC’S OFFICERS, TRUSTEES, and MEMBERS.

Please join us on Dec. 10th and help the NCC plan the meetings and events for 2020 by providing your input.

  3. The Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce gave a stimulating presentation at our November meeting. Do you know that when we spend $100 locally, $73 stays in our community? Local businesses create jobs for your neighbors. Shopping at a brick and mortar store is a greener option than ordering on line. “Factoring in overall transportation costs, expedited delivery and returns, one item ordered online equals the carbon footprint of 24 items bought in a local store” (from the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce.)

  4. The Children’s Christmas Party will be held on Dec. 14, from 11-1 PM at MJ Dowlings’ Steak House. Please bring a hidden wrapped gift with your child’s name on it. An elf will bring the gift to Santa who will surprise your child. Thank you, Mike and Betty Dowling for hosting this event. For more information or questions, contact noyaccivic@optonline.net.

  5. Bring your Toys for Tots to Assemblyman Thiele’s new office: 3350 Noyac Rd., Bld B until Dec. 13.
