Trout Pond Invasives

Trout Pond is one of the jewels of Noyac, but has been seriously damaged through the unfortunate introduction of invasive plant species which are crowding out native plants, fish, and the community’s ability to swim or enjoy the water. Recent efforts organized by Southampton Town council member Tommy John Schiavoni, Parks and Recreation head Kristen Doulos and staff, as well as, Cornell Cooperative Extension members, in addition to volunteers from Noyac Civic Council and Sag Harbor school students over the past three years to remove the invasive species has met with temporary success.
