NCC Officers

Over the past several months, the Recording Secretary Sharon Bakes and Treasurer John Arendt of the NoyacCivic Council have resigned. The Noyac Civic Council Board would like to thank them for their years of dedicated service.

To continue the mission of the NCC, the president, based on the authority provided in article 6 of the NCC constitution, has appointed a new Treasurer and Secretary to replace them on an interim basis. At the September meeting, we will vote to ratify the presidents interim appointments of Dan Zuchelli as Treasurer, Peggy Gallagher as Secretary, and Sharon Bakes as Trustee.

NCC By-Laws

Members are asked to review the proposed revisions to our by-laws; click button below. The changes are highlighted in red so members can see the old and new language. We will review at our September meeting and vote on the proposal.

ITEMS OF INTEREST

Save the Date for HarborFest!

September 16 + 17, 2023

The NCC will have a tent at HarborFest again this year!

We would love some volunteers to help set up, organize, and cover the tent throughout the day to chat with the community about the NCC and sign up new members. Please contact NCC Corresponding Secretary, Matt Burns, for more info and to schedule a time slot to help.

Airport Noise

Southampton Town’s constituents continue to bear the burden of the East Hampton Airport aircraft noise. The November Route redlines the middle class communities where residents have no say in its operation.

Please continue to file complaints using AirNoise.io and contact Southampton Town Supervisor, East Hampton Town Supervisor, the Airport Manager, and the Eastern Region Helicopter Council to voice your concerns.

Long Beach Activities

On Sunday, August 6, the NCC brought bagels, muffins, hot chocolate and coffee to thank our Long Beach Recreation staff for their unwavering support and care for our safety at our treasured beach.

Then on the evening of August 9, the NCC held a social gathering of our membership at Long Beach. It was a perfect evening to enjoy the sunset, and the company of our fellow members. It was great meeting new members and Noyac residents who want to become members. This casual gathering was enjoyed so much that we will have this event every year.

Sag Harbor Helpers

The Helpers continue to delight those in need of a meal and some conversation. Check out the Sag Harbor Helpers Facebook page and if you have time to donate meals, time, funds, etc., please email Cindy Capalbo.

Senior Scam Prevention Program

September 14
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Noyac Sidewalks

Councilman Tommy John Schiavoni is actively working on the hamlet’s plan for sidewalks from the village to the farmstand and to Trout Pond at Noyac Rd. We will keep you posted on this plan.

Trout Pond

The Parks and Recreation Dept. has planned another Trout Pond Clean-Up of invasive species in September. The NCC will inform you of the exact date. All are invited to participate. This event helps to eliminate the invasive plants that are overtaking the pond. Community service credit will be given. We also hope the Scouts will be able to also participate.
